Privacy
This page describes how this site handles visitor data as of the date above.
What we collect ourselves. This site doesn’t collect email addresses or run a newsletter sign-up, and it has no accounts or forms.
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4, a Google service, to understand which pages people read and how they reach them. It runs when you load a page. This site doesn’t show a cookie banner or ask for your choice first.
What reaches Google. Your browser sends Google information, including the address of the page and your IP address. Google Analytics also collects the page title, the page you came from, your language and screen size, along with browser and device information, and events such as page views, scrolling to the bottom of a page and clicks on links to other sites. Google says that Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses when collecting data, and that it uses them to protect the service and to show where in the world users come from. Our pages are about health topics, so the pages you read can show what you are interested in.
Cookies. Google Analytics sets two cookies on this site: _ga, used to distinguish users, and _ga_<container-id>, used to keep session state. By default each lasts up to 2 years, and browsers may limit that. We add no other cookies.
Our settings. We have turned off Google signals and ads personalization in Google Analytics. We have set Google Analytics to delete user-level and event-level data after 2 months; that setting doesn’t affect its standard aggregated reports. Our settings don’t stop every use. Sharing for “Google products & services” is off, but our Google Analytics account allows other data sharing: aggregated data for modeling and business insights, access for technical support, and use of account data for recommendations to us. Google says Analytics data may also be used as necessary to maintain and protect the service.
How Google uses information. Google explains this in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. We don’t control Google’s practices.
Your choices. You can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block or delete cookies in your browser. This site doesn’t respond to browser signals such as Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
Hosting. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect it.
We do not currently list a public contact address. If any of this changes, we will update this page and its date.
